Reason for being in rescue: Coconut was found as a stray and landed at a shelter
Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Special Needs? Coconut is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Coconut arrived in rescue with entropion - a condition in which her eyelids fold into her eyes. On 12/4/25 this was repaired and she is now ready for her forever home. We have no history on Coconut. Our best guess is that she is a doodle. We cannot guarantee that she is hypoallergenic or that she won't shed.
Weight: 46 lbs
Height: 24 in
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Adoption Fee: $699
Fence needed? Yes, Coconut requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller.
What kind of home would be best for me? In her own home, Coconut wants to be the only dog. She does not enjoy sharing her space or her valued resources, including food, toys, treats, or attention. She can be protective of these items and is confident about communicating her limits to other dogs. For this reason, any visiting dogs would need to be well-mannered guests who understand they are just that - visitors.
Interestingly, outside of her personal space, Coconut truly enjoys other dogs. She loves to play, is socially confident, and often takes on a leadership role. She's been known to step in and protect dogs that are being bullied, showing her strong, assertive nature and social awareness. When she's not home, she's playful, and engaged with both dogs and people.
At this time, we are unsure how Coconut does with children or cats, so a home without them is preferred. Coconut has a strong personality and requires an experienced owner and rescuer that will help her continue to redirect her energy in positive ways.
What is my personality like? Coconut is a sweet, wonderful girl with a big personality and a few quirks - and we think those quirks are part of what makes her special. She knows what she likes, what makes her feel secure, and she's looking for a home that understands the importance of respecting her boundaries.
With humans, Coconut is affectionate, social, and happiest when she's close by, involved in whatever is happening. She enjoys being part of the group and thrives on connection. Coconut will benefit from continued basic and advanced training to help her navigate home life and reinforce positive boundaries and expectations. Structure and consistency will be key to her success.
If you're looking for a confident, loyal, one-of-a-kind companion who shines brightest as an only dog, Coconut may be the perfect fit for you.
How do I act when I first meet new people? Coconut is a friendly girl who enjoys meeting people.
Other tips and tidbits: Coconut was found as a stray. We have absolutely no history on her. Based on her overall health and condition she was estimated at 2 years old by the shelter. We celebrate her birthday 09/19/2023.
House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
