Special Needs? Delilah is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 12/4/25 she had a major dental and lost all but 3 teeth. She will need a soft food diet for life - in true princess fashion! Delilah has a grade 2/6 hart murmur. She is not currently on any medicine for this (not recommended by our veterinarian). Our veterinarian also noted bilateral luxating patellas for which surgery is not recommended - our princess prefers to be carried anyway! Delilah was found as a stray. We have no history on her background. Our best guess is that she is a toy poodle mix. We will not guarantee that she is hypoallergenic or that she won't shed.
Weight: 5 lbs
Height: 12 in
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Adoption Fee: $425
Fence needed? No
What kind of home would be best for me? Delilah is a lot of cute packed into a tiny body. We don't know anything about her past but know she prefers calm to chaos. Delilah gets along well with calm, older dogs and enjoys their quiet companionship. She is not a fan of energetic puppies and does not want to be a playmate, so she would do best with dogs who match her mellow energy - or as the only dog in the home where she can be the center of your world.
What is my personality like? Delilah is a tiny 5-pound fluffball overflowing with love. This little princess is looking for a quiet, calm environment where she can snooze in warm blankets and spend her days curled up in your lap. She may be small, but she has a gentle adventurous streak and loves nothing more than following her person from room to room. Wherever you go, she wants to be close behind.
Delilah enjoys spending time outdoors, especially if it means exploring right at your side. She will need patience and consistency as she learns the rhythms and expectations of her new home. She appears to be pee-pad trained, but like any dog entering a new environment, she'll need time to fully understand your schedule and routine.
Because Delilah has spent much of her life being carried, she is still adjusting to wearing a collar and walking on a leash. A patient adopter who can gently introduce her to these new experiences will help her continue to build confidence.
If you're looking for a dainty, loving, lap-devoted companion, Delilah will happily be your little shadow.
How do I act when I first meet new people? Delilah is a sweetheart who greets new people calmly.
Other tips and tidbits: Delilah was found as a stray, so we have absolutely no history on her. Based on her overall health and condition she is estimated at 9 years old. We celebrate her birthday 10/10/2016.
House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
