What kind of home would be best for me? To quote Taylor Swift, if Bean sang he would whisper "I just want you". This sweet boy is looking for a person or family. Humans that won't let him go. Humans that are home more than they are away and want a loyal sidekick. Bean lives happily with other dogs in his foster home, but he could take them or leave them. He'd be happy as your only companion.
Bean has 2 non-negotiables in his forever home. First, you must be home more than you are away (or take your pup with you). And second, you must want a dog snuggled up against you in the bed at night. Bean has never been tested with large dogs or cats - his foster home has neither. He hasn't been exposed to children, though has a demeanor that we believe would be well suited to children over 10.
What is my personality like? Bean is a miniature poodle mix who was found as a stray, but what he's searching for now is simple and clear - his person. More than anything else in the world, Bean just wants to be with you.
Bean does well with other small dogs and can happily coexist in a multi-dog home, but he'd be just as content being your one and only, soaking up all the love and attention for himself. Bean bonds deeply and loves nothing more than knowing he belongs. Bean enjoys playing with toys and will happily entertain himself, but when the day winds down, he wants to be right where you are. At night, Bean sleeps snuggled up next to you in bed, perfectly content as long as he's close.
Bean would thrive in a home that values connection, companionship, and the quiet joy of having a dog who truly lives for his person.
How do I act when I first meet new people? Bean is a gentle boy. Give him a few moments to warm up and he'll be your best friend.
Other tips and tidbits: Bean was found as a stray, so we have absolutely no history on him. Based on his overall health and condition he is estimated at 2 years old. We celebrate his birthday 10/11/2023.
House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
