Say hello to Jessa, a confident, happy-go-lucky Great Pyrenees pup who is ready to bring endless joy and laughter to her forever home! Jessa came to us as a stray alongside her mom and littermates at just five weeks old, and she has blossomed into the most cheerful, well-adjusted pup you could imagine. With her medium-length, irresistibly soft coat and that classic Pyrenees look, she is equal parts fluffball and love-bug! Jessa's days are happily spent running, romping, and playing with her toys (which she's happy to share!). She loves people and is thrilled meeting new friends of all ages, anyone willing to give her attention. At a recent get-together, Jessa was a superstar, letting everyone pet and snuggle on her - she was sweet and docile with the kids, and fell asleep cuddling one of them!
She's been around cats, and has grown up socializing with dogs of all sizes and ages - she is a very sweet-natured dog. She barks much less than the average Pyr, rarely digs (only tried it out once - it's not her thing), has shown no interest in escaping or climbing, and is equally happy indoors or out, but you'll find her mostly indoors with her people. Jessa is VERY smart, 100%% housebroken, knows the basics, like "sit" and "stay," and has excellent house manners - you won't find her chewing up the furniture - she's a good girl! She is trustworthy, and is gets free rein of the home with the resident dogs while her foster mom is at work. With a medium activity level, Jessa enjoys occasional visits to the dog park to make new friends (dogs and people alike!).
For treats, this girl has surprisingly refined taste - she absolutely loves apples, bananas, blueberries, and peanut butter! Jessa is a confident, fun, playful, joyful, and loving pup who finds the world delightful. She is an affectionate cuddle bug who loves to carry around her stuffed Santa toy. Jessa's ideal home is an active family with dogs, cats, and/or kids welcome - she loves them all! She will need a 5-foot securely fenced yard to keep her adventurous spirit safely contained, and a canine brother to play with and help show her the ropes. Everything this girl does is cute and funny, and her future family is going to feel like the luckiest people in the world. Could that be you?!

NYS Registered Non-Profit Rescue # RR102. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn't end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog.
Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant's ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
We have many Pyrs and Pyr mixes who need homes. You can see more of these beautiful dogs by clicking on Adoptable Dogs.
