Like a fresh blanket of snow on a winter morning, Blizzard brings pure joy wherever he goes! This exceptional boy comes fully equipped for his forever home-he's housebroken, leash trained, and crate trained, plus he knows "sit," "stay," "come," and will even shake your paw! With a medium activity level, Blizzard loves to play outside in the cool weather, and is equally happy snuggling up inside on his cozy bed-the perfect balance of fun and relaxation. This good boy is a total people-pleaser who loves everyone he meets, is wonderful with kids, gets along brilliantly with other dogs (both big and small), is completely indifferent to cats, and even does well with chickens! He's not a digger or an escape artist (a 4' fence keeps him secure), and he's not a big barker either-he prefers to observe thoughtfully and take mental notes. Blizzard's favorite things include attention and affection from his people, tasty treats (especially cheese and chicken bone broth!), his beloved babies (toys) and Benebones, riding shotgun in the truck, adventures to Lowe's, and both indoor snuggles and outdoor romps. With zero dislikes, zero behavior issues, and outstanding house manners, this very loving, happy boy would thrive in a family setting-with other dogs for companionship or as a cherished only dog. All he needs is a home where he'll be loved by all, and he'll return that love a thousand times over! Ready to add some magic to your life? Blizzard is waiting to drift into your heart and home!

NYS Registered Non-Profit Rescue # RR102. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn't end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog.
Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant's ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
