Lillie is a stunning Great Pyrenees girl with that classic Pyr look everyone adores, and a wonderfully soft fur coat that begs to be petted! This sweet girl has mastered her crate training and knows basic obedience commands including "sit," "down," and "wait," and she's working on perfecting her leash manners. With a medium activity level, Lillie is a lovely balance of playful and relaxed, and she's content in a 4.5-foot fenced yard with no desire whatsoever to escape. She gets along with other dogs (she calmly ignores the neighbor pups) and has proven herself wonderful with new people on her many walks-she even handled being passed to a stranger with grace when her foster had a fall. Lillie keeps her barking to a minimum, though she'll happily join in an appropriate howl session when the trains race by on the nearby tracks or planes fly overhead (she's convinced she can catch them both!). This charming girl enjoys both indoor and outdoor time but prefers to have her people nearby when she's outside. She's a bit hesitant about hopping into the car and needs some coaxing, but once she's in, she's perfectly fine. Lillie has a preference for dining solo before rejoining the fun, and she's absolutely crazy about Peanut Butter Ritz Bits, which make excellent training treats. Her very best quality? - This loving girl adores being loved on and would happily sit in your lap all day if you'd let her! An active home where she'll get plenty of attention and affection would be absolutely perfect for this Pyr princess.

NYS Registered Non-Profit Rescue # RR102. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn't end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog.
Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant's ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
