Desmond

Desmond is a 1 year old Lab mix, and is a joyful, sweet boy who loves being with people. Sadly, Desmond once knew the comforts of a home after being adopted as a puppy last year, but through no fault of his own he seems to have been abandoned. Now he finds himself waiting at the shelter once again - hopeful that someone will choose him, this time as his true forever family. Despite the disappointment he's faced, Desmond's happy and lovable spirit shines through every day, a beautiful reminder of just how resilient dogs can be. He is wonderful on a leash and happily follows your lead during walks, always ready to enjoy the simple pleasure of spending time together. Desmond also has excellent manners and has learned not to jump up on people - such a good boy! He's eager to please and clearly wants nothing more than to belong. What Desmond hopes for now is simple: a family who will see the loyal heart he has to offer and give him the forever home he has been waiting for. If you open your heart to this sweet boy, you won't just be giving a sweet dog a home … you'll be giving Desmond the second chance he deserves - and gaining a best friend who will love you with his whole heart.
The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip.

The hours of operation are: Monday through Wednesday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Thursday 12:30 pm till 6:00 pm; Friday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Saturday 9:00 am till 4:00 pm. The Carroll County Animal Shelter will be closed the last Friday of every month for deep cleaning, staff training, and animal enrichment.
