AS SWEET AS THEY COME: Approx. 10 years old / Approx. 58 lbs.

Hi there, I'm Agnes! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control along with my sister Ada who has found her forever home already! I don't recall how we ended up there, but we're both thankful for this new chance of finding forever homes! I came in heartworm positive, and with some other medical challenges that have been addressed (see the below medical section). I'm also being treated for heartworms using the slow kill method which is a monthly chewable. I needed bloodwork before my spay surgery and I've had that thanks to a generous grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization - they are the best!

· OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I'd really like to have another sweet dog to hang out with in my new home! I've liked dogs of all sizes and ages: I enjoyed hanging out with the very calm Chiweenie in my prior foster home and a Basset Hound mix as well as the Heeler in my current foster home. When my foster siblings walk up to me, my tail can't help but wag and I'll even give a few big, wet kisses. So, if you have another low-key dog who would like a pal like me, let's meet! / I ignore the cat in my foster home for the most part, sharing just a few sniffs over the time I've been there. All cats are different so I'm not sure how I would be with another cat. / I like the gentle 6-, 8-, and 14-year-olds in my foster home so if you have calm, gentle kids at home, let's meet!

· PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I'm a super affectionate girl who loves nothing more than being with my person or people in general as I love nice people! I'll follow you everywhere and make sure I'm close enough to touch you when we're relaxing together. My tail is always wagging because being by your side makes me so happy! I met a neighbor of my foster and went right to him wagging my tail and was very friendly. I'm a total love bug and couch lounger who is enjoying life to the fullest in my foster home! / Energy level: 3-5.

· SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: My foster taught me some commands, including 'sit', 'come', and 'leave it'. I bet you can teach me even more as you absolutely CAN teach an older dog new tricks! I also listen well when my foster tells me 'no'. Mostly Mutts offers free lifetime training classes for all their adopted dogs, so let's continue my training together. / I haven't needed a crate in my foster home, and I sleep in a nice, comfy doggie bed in my foster's bedroom at night. During the day, I've been great about not getting into anything and have just slept on the couch while my foster is working or needs to go to the office. They do camera checks and can see that I'm being so good when they are gone. / My potty habits have been very good in my foster home - when my foster is home, there have been no accidents, and I go to the door to let them know that I need to go outside. When my foster had to go to the office one day for 8 hours, they laid out a washable pee pad and I went on it!

· LIKES/DISLIKES: I just want to be loved and to spend time with my people! Receiving belly rubs and lying on the couch and snuggling are some of my favorite things to do with my foster. My foster says I have lots of pep left in my step as I enjoy sprinting around the yard excitedly for a few minutes and chewing on bully sticks. / I really can't think of any dislikes, but if I don't want to do something, I'll just plop down and become dead weight - LOL. I'm sure I wouldn't like it if I didn't get enough love, attention, and training.

· MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations and micro-chipped. I take an inexpensive over-the-counter Cosequin joint supplement that is good for all older dogs. I had masses in my mammary chains, which have been removed, and I've been spayed, making my risk of cancer returning low, so that's good! As mentioned above, I'm currently being treated for heartworms. My bloodwork revealed that I should stay on a medication for my liver and my kidneys, likely for the rest of my life. I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future.
