***IN TRAINING TILL MID JULY***Pet Rescue By Judy has teamed up with an incredible program called the Greyhound Advancement Center which will allow some of our dogs to attend a ten-week prison training program. The program originally started to help retired racing greyhounds learn how to "dog".Greyhound racing is now illegal in our state, but the program worked so well that they decided to open up to other rescues and accept different breeds. Each dog is teamed up with an inmate who is in their dog training program. This program allows inmates to gain an important skill that they can bring with them when they are released. The head trainers are the best of the best and we are sure that these dogs are going to come out of this program with all kinds of tricks up their little doggy sleeves. Our dogs are so blessed to be able to learn important obedience training to help with their confidence and make them awesome additions to a family. We cannot thank Greyhound Advancement Center enough for giving these dogs a leg up on getting into their forever home!Meet Jasper!
Jasper is a handsome Bulldog mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He came to Pet Rescue By Judy after being found as a stray by a technician at one of the veterinary offices we work closely with. Jasper was microchipped, which initially gave us hope of a happy reunion-but sadly, his original family had rehomed him and was unable to take him back. Now, Jasper is looking forward to a fresh start and a forever home of his own.
This sweet boy is playful, affectionate, and highly motivated by treats and food-always a plus when it comes to bonding and training! Jasper enjoys going for walks and has the cutest prance and sway when he's out and about. He does, however, have quite a bit of strength and can be strong on the leash, so someone confident handling a sturdy pup will be important.
Jasper prefers a calmer environment and can be selective with other dogs. Because of this, he would do best as the only dog in the home. True to his Bulldog roots, Jasper has a determined streak and likes to do things his own way. An adopter with Bulldog experience-or at least an appreciation for their lovable stubbornness-would be a wonderful match for him.
