Ralph

Ralph is a estimated 6 year old Pomeranian. He was rescued from a huge puppy mill bust in TN with over 100 dogs on the property. He has a gentle, low-key personality and big brown eyes that might convince you he's due for an early meal (stick to the schedule, he adapts beautifully!). He is shy at first but builds trust with patience and consistency. In just one week, Ralph has made remarkable comfort strides from staying in his crate on day one to relaxing in the living room with us all day by day seven, even hopping into a cozy chair. He enjoys being near his people rather than "on" them, happily sharing space without demanding attention. Ralph enjoys affection like tummy and ear rubs, but he doesn't demand attention. He also loves to "show off" his toys and will carry them around the house while prancing along. He is not aggressive, very low-bark, does not jump on people, walks well on a leash once it's on him, responds well to food rewards, and sleeps best after a nice evening walk. He has not had any accidents in the house since the very first day! He does well with other dogs and peacefully coexists with our resident Pom. Ralph also handled a busy house of holiday guests beautifully, staying out in the main room with everyone and even allowing new people to pet him! Give him a little space at first and time and you will see his resilient and happy side come to life!
