BIO: Eve came from North Carolina. Sadly, she was not well socialized, so she will need someone to teach her that people can be wonderful. She will bond with her new family, but will need help with people she doesn't know entering her home. Have you always wanted an English Cream long-haired pup? Well, here she is. But you will have to work with Eve to help her overcome her lack of socialization.
Sadly, due to poor dental care, she lost 18 teeth, including her top canines. But once healed, she'll be able to eat hard kibble.
Eve would benefit from having another adult, small, well-socialized dog in the home to help her adjust. She is a beautiful and smart little girl!
Our must-haves for beautiful Miss Eve include:
A fenced yard
Another small, adult, well-socialized dog in the home
Someone who can be home more often than not
No apartment, high-rises, or condos, as dachshunds like to bark
If you can give Eve the home she deserves, then please apply to adopt.
============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ==============
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form. They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.
We cannot adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures.
To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page. Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers who will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or Midwest. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. Please look for dogs on your coast.
