Some dogs don't just want a home… they want their person. Meet LAILA •-a petite 3-year-old Flat-Coated Retriever weighing a perfect 47 pounds of loyalty and love. Rescued from the shelter with no known backstory, Laila wears her heart on her sleeve. She's what we lovingly call a "level 5 clinger," which tells us she may have been left behind before. Laila bonds deeply and quickly. She'll sleep quietly beside your bed, follow you from room to room, and look at you like you're her whole world-because to her, you are. She'll do best in a home where someone is around often, at least while she settles in and learns she's safe for good. Laila believes every walk is an adventure… especially if there are lots of good smells to investigate. She tolerated her bath like a lady, and her long, shiny black coat is absolutely stunning. Laila gets along well with other dogs her size and especially enjoys the company of a big, goofy male to play with. She's not a big fan of car rides yet, but considering she likely hasn't had many, she handled it bravely. Laila is a dreamy, sensitive soul with so much potential. In the right home-patient, present, and full of reassurance-she will blossom into the most devoted forever companion.
