I'm Silverbell and I'm an adorable but grumpy little cutie who just needs some love to unlock my soft side.
I spent my early life outside, so I never learned how to talk to people. When I see a person, I hiss to say hello. As soon as I realize you have snacks or a toy I want, my hisses turn to a beseeching meow. I enjoy pets and snuggles, but I need to be reminded sometimes. I like feather toys and plastic springs and romping with my siblings. It takes a bit of time to come out of my shell but I'm incredibly rewarding once I do!
I need a knowledgeable and understanding adopter who finds my quirks charming and can continue my socialization. I'm very wary of new experiences and people, but I'm also very susceptible to bribery with treats. My foster mom has introduced me to all sorts of scary things with Churu rewards and fun toys so I forget I was scared. Since I'm still a baby, I need to live with another cat. I would do best with one of my siblings (Hazel, Aspen, or Hickory) or a confident cat that's already familiar with your routine. I don't want to live in a house with a dog. I will not be good with kids until I'm a bit older and more confident. My ideal adopter is home most of the time so I can learn how to be a good roommate.
We encourage you to consider adopting kittens in pairs! There are several reasons why Silverbell would do good with a friend, including:
-Two kittens keep each other entertained - they will play and get all their energy out on each other in time for snuggles with you!
-Having two kittens to play with each other prevents "I'm lonely and bored" behavioral issues.
-Watching two kittens wrestle is quite possibly the cutest thing you will ever see.
-The kittens will teach each other "how to cat" and learn to be more social with humans and people.
-You'll save two lives instead of one!
Silverbell is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, neutered, and litter box trained. Silverbell's adoption fee is $165. Please note A.R.F. does not approve applications for any kitten under 6 months of age to families that live outside of Illinois and/or beyond 100 miles of Wheaton or Glen Ellyn, IL.
