I'm Walnut, or Wally for short, and I'm a fluffy little lovebug who wants to come home with you!
I'm a furry little guy who loves snuggles and pets, and even though I'm a bit on the shy side, I love playing with feather or wand toys, and I gain a lot of confidence playing, especially around my siblings. I might hide at first because people can be a bit scary, but my more confident siblings make me come out of my shell, so another friendly and playful cat in the house is a must for me. I get along with other cats very well and I will try to snuggle anyone and everyone who will let me! When I'm tired I'll either find a little nook to rest in or I'll snuggle with one of my siblings. When I'm lost or alone I'll cry out to them so they'll come find me and snuggle with me.
I spent the first part of my life outside, so I need a patient and knowledgeable owner who can bring me out of my shell and make me feel comfortable in a home. I would like to go home with one of my siblings (Hickory, Aspen, Hazel, or Silverbell) or another young cat. I must have at least one other cat in the home, and I would prefer a home with no dogs. I never scratch or bite, so I can be in a home with older kids that respect my boundaries, but younger children would probably scare me. My ideal home has people around most of the time, but I'll be content with kitty company when my people aren't home.
We encourage you to consider adopting kittens in pairs! There are several reasons why Walnut would do good with a friend, including:
-Two kittens keep each other entertained - they will play and get all their energy out on each other in time for snuggles with you!
-Having two kittens to play with each other prevents "I'm lonely and bored" behavioral issues.
-Watching two kittens wrestle is quite possibly the cutest thing you will ever see.
-The kittens will teach each other "how to cat" and learn to be more social with humans and people.
-You'll save two lives instead of one!
Walnut is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, neutered, and litter box trained. Walnut's adoption fee is $165. Please note A.R.F. does not approve applications for any kitten under 6 months of age to families that live outside of Illinois and/or beyond 100 miles of Wheaton or Glen Ellyn, IL.
