KIMBO

This cutie is KIMBO, a male, Cairn Terrier/Chihuahua mix, who is around 5-6 years old and weighing around 16-18 pounds. He has a rough/wiry coat that just needs routine brushing. Kimbo is a sensitive dog who was treated unkindly when he was young so he requires time to adjust to his new surroundings and people; a patient and understanding adopter is a must for him, but he is SO worth it. He is a very sweet, shy dog who is great with other small dogs and enjoys playing with them for hours. When he's done playing, he loves to nap on his foster mom's lap. Kimbo lives easily in a foster home with two teenagers and his foster mom and a few dogs. We are seeking a calm, adult or adult with teen(s) household, another small, playful dog with whom he can buddy, and a securely fenced yard.

Kimbo enjoys going for walks and will benefit from continued walks to help him become more and more comfortable with seeing and hearing "life" going on around him. Kimbo is crated when people leave the home and at night, which he accepts easily. He is housebroken when taken out on a schedule. He is uncomfortable meeting new people so he is not a dog that would do well with an adopter who wants to have a dog who goes out and meets people at events, restaurants, etc. Kimbo's history is sad; his owner got him as a puppy and when the kids tired of him, he was relegated to living in the basement with minimal attention. He has done very well in foster care and will make a great companion for a Terrier loving person.

This dog has been examined by a licensed veterinarian, provided vaccines, been dewormed, tested for diseases, neutered, and microchipped.
