Archie is a sweet 1½-year-old hound/Lab mix with the gentlest soul. He can be a little shy at first, when meeting new adults, especially men. But with a bit of time and reassurance, he quickly warms up and lets his silly, affectionate personality shine. Once he trusts you, Archie loves being close, will follow you around and loves to lie down and cuddle.Archie is both crate-trained and house-trained, and he's an extremely quick learner who responds well to guidance and encouragement, as he is not very food-motivated. As he continues to grow, Archie will need routine and positive reinforcement.He's still discovering how fun toys and fetch can be, and he enjoys learning new ways to play. Archie loves going on walks and exploring, but he's just as happy relaxing at home by your side. While he can be shy around other dogs, he does best with slow, calm introductions and has never shown aggression.An active home where he can enjoy daily walks and quality time with his people would be ideal. A fenced yard would be a bonus, but it's not required. Archie's biggest need is a loving home that will help him continue to build confidence and feel safe.If you're looking for a loyal, gentle companion with the biggest heart, Archie may be the perfect addition to your family. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200.
