Oh my, there is so much to say about Barqs! He is so super friendly and affectionate! He loves everyone he meets. He's wonderful with all the cats and kittens he is being fostered with, plus he gets along great with dogs and absolutely loves children too! He wants to be pet and loved on more than anything. If you smack your lips he will hold his face up to you so you can kiss his nose. He also enjoys toys and playtime! He is about 1.5 years old and has very long, very soft fluffy hair. His hair gets easily matted, so he will need someone who is committed to keeping him brushed and groomed so he can be nice and comfortable! He was living outside in this horribly cold weather, and even though you'd think he'd be nice and warm with all that fur, he had fleas and had a very bad reaction to them which made his skin red and inflamed and resulted in quite a lot of hair loss. So he was outside in the snow with thin patchy hair and painful, sore skin - it was just heartbreaking. Thankfully we were able to take him in and got him treated for fleas, and immediately his skin started looking so much better, and it didn't take long for it to completely heal! His hair is growing back nicely, and he is healthy and comfortable now. He is such an awesome cat, and he's looking for a loving home.
This cat is neutered, microchipped, up to date on distemper and rabies vaccinations, dewormings, tested negative for FIV/Felv, is on flea/tick preventative and ear mite preventative.
