Update, 7/9: Duckie went to a foster home last week, where he is fitting in beautifully with all his hound friends! He appears to be familiar with being in a house, and loves spending time on the porch laying in the sun. He walks beautifully on leash! Because of his loose, easy-going personality, Duckie was suggested to the trainers at Buckingham Correctional Center as a candidate for their program, teaching inmates to become dog handlers for the Service Dogs of Virginia training program. Duckie has been there for a couple weeks now, and is a huge hit with the residents and trainees of the program. We see him being a successful graduate of that program in a few months.
