About The Humane Society of Charlotte
Founded in 1978, the Humane Society of Charlotte works to improve our community by creating new, loving families for companion animals and building a future where there are no homeless or unwanted pets. HSC serves the Greater Charlotte region through adoption, spay and neuter services, affordable veterinary care, behavior support, and pet retention programs that help keep animals with the people who love them. This work is ongoing. For every animal who finds a home, another animal in need arrives at our shelter, making community support essential to our mission. HSC is a private, independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit and is not affiliated with any other animal welfare organizations. We receive no government funding and rely on the generosity of animal lovers, grants, bequests, and fees for service to sustain and grow our impact. Together, we are building a more humane Charlotte.
