About Animal Humane Society
Animal Humane Society (AHS), established in 1878, proudly serves as the largest animal welfare organization in the Upper Midwest, impacting the lives of tens of thousands of animals annually. Minnesotans rely on AHS to care for our state’s most vulnerable animals. AHS fulfills its mission to engage the hearts, hands, and minds of the community to help animals by finding pets loving homes, providing low-cost veterinary care to the public, helping community members care for their pets during times of crisis, protecting animals from abuse and neglect, advancing legislation benefiting pets, and inspiring more compassion toward animals through education and community engagement. AHS serves the community through shelter locations in Golden Valley, Coon Rapids, and Woodbury, and affordable pet clinics in Golden Valley and St. Paul.
