Anti-Cruelty is Chicago’s only nonprofit open-door humane society committed to pets and the people who love them. For more than 125 years, we have operated at the intersection of animal welfare and social well-being, delivering care that not only supports animals, but strengthens the human-animal bond at the heart of every community. Through a comprehensive, community-centered approach, we serve more than 20,000 animals each year through transformative programs that support, shelter, and advocate for pets across the community. By preserving families, providing animal shelter and wellness services, and creating meaningful ways for the public to get involved, we are building a more humane Chicago where pets and people thrive, together.
