About Hill Country Humane Society

Hill Country Humane Society is a nonprofit, open-intake animal shelter in Buchanan Dam, Texas, serving Burnet County, Llano County, and surrounding Hill Country communities. We provide shelter, medical care, adoption services, community support, and lifesaving programs for homeless, lost, abandoned, and at-risk pets. In addition to sheltering animals, HCHS operates the MASH spay/neuter program to expand access to affordable veterinary care, reduce unwanted litters, and help prevent animals from entering the shelter system. Our mission is to save lives, support pet owners, and create a stronger future for animals in our rural community.
