About Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue

Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue, Inc (“GOFAR”). is a no-kill, all size/breed/age rescue founded on April 27, 2021 in Southwest Florida by a group of professional women passionate about helping animals who have no voice, no hope and no GUARDIAN. GOFAR has on average 200 animals in our care and, with the exception of paid kennel cleaners, outsourced training/behavior assessment and assistance with kennel management, is a volunteer run organization -- no 6 or 7 figure executive or administrative salaries here! In 2025 alone, we provided safe-haven for 895 homeless and previously unwanted animals in need of forever homes. Our mission includes: • Removal of animals from situations that are abusive, endangering and/or neglectful, which include, but are not limited to, kill shelters, stray animals, owner surrenders & puppy mills; • Providing temporary homes & appropriate care (general and medical) for rescued animals; • Placing rescued animals into responsible, permanent adoptive homes or provide sanctuary for rescued animals for which adoption is not feasible; & • Promoting & advancing public education on the importance of spaying/neutering and responsible animal ownership.
