About Emerald City Pet Rescue

At Emerald City Pet Rescue, we are committed to providing care, rehabilitation, and second chances to animals who need more, especially those with medical and behavioral challenges. Our team of dedicated staff, caregivers, and volunteers works tirelessly to support animals at every stage of their journey, from urgent rescue to recovery and, ultimately, adoption. We believe every animal deserves the opportunity to live a safe, healthy, and fulfilling life regardless of their past or condition. In addition to our rescue and adoption program, our work extends to Ghost Owl Farm, our 70-acre sanctuary on Vashon Island. There, nearly 80 animals live in long-term care, including horses and other residents with ongoing medical needs or those who require a lifelong place of safety. At the farm, care doesn’t end, it evolves. These animals receive daily support, specialized diets, medication, and the space to simply be. For those ready for adoption, we take great care in making lasting matches. Our process includes meet and greets, reference checks, and home visits to ensure each animal is placed in a home that truly fits their needs.
