About Halfway Home Animal Rescue Team A NJ Nonprofit Corporation
Founded in 2019, Halfway Home Animal Rescue Team's (HHART) mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and find loving homes for animals in distress or at risk of losing their lives. We help all kinds and breeds; dogs, cats, small animals, even an occasional pig. Seniors, special needs, those with critical medical problems, the unwanted and the discarded are all our priority. We focus on helping animals in our Northern NJ area, especially those in city shelters, living on the streets, or being surrendered for euthanasia. We have saved more than 1000 to date. We provide each animal with all necessary medical care from basic vetting and vaccinations to life-saving surgery. Each is placed in loving foster homes until they find their forever home. We are not here for just the animals. We collect dog and cat food and donate it to local food banks for distribution to their clients (more than 14 tons to date). This helps people keep their animal companions in their homes, avoiding unnecessary surrenders and euthanasia. HHART is a small, dedicated group of volunteers that do big things. The costs to do this work are huge but the reward of saving these lives is incalculable. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit and receive no funding or financial support beyond donations from those who support and believe in our work. Nearly 90% of our expenses are for animal care and more than 90% of this expense is for direct medical care. Any donation, no matter how small, will help us save more animals.
