About Animal Lighthouse Rescue

Animal Lighthouse Rescue (ALR) provides Puerto Rico’s stray dogs (satos) and cats (gatos) with refuge, veterinary care, transport, and loving homes in New York City and beyond. We partner with a no-kill shelter there and together have saved more than 5,000 animals over the past decade. We rely on volunteers, fosters, donors, and partners to achieve our mission and welcome anyone who would like to join our cause.
