About Harris County Pets

Harris County Pets, the animal shelter and veterinary public health division of Harris County Public Health, is dedicated to promoting responsible pet ownership, protecting public health, and improving animal welfare throughout Harris County. The organization provides animal sheltering and adoption services, pet licensing, rabies prevention and education, lost-and-found pet assistance, low-cost vaccination and microchipping programs, and community outreach initiatives. Through partnerships, grant-funded programs, and public engagement, Harris County Pets works to increase lifesaving outcomes for animals while supporting the health and safety of both pets and residents in the community.
