About Humane Society of Atchison
Founded in 1991, we are a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting animals from neglect, abuse, and exploitation; placing them into loving, permanent homes; and reducing pet overpopulation through education, programs, and services. We are committed to promoting awareness and compassion for all animal life, big or small. As a no-kill shelter, we uphold a philosophy of providing care and refuge for animals in need, reserving euthanasia only for cases involving severe aggression or untreatable, long-term illness.
